The MB5 is a lightweight fiberglass case made for screw bell French horns by Marcus Bonna in Brazil.  The fiberglass shell is surrounded by a nylon cover that is easily removed if repair or replacement is ever necessary.  The MB5 case includes backpack straps, a shoulder strap, several movable foam pads, storage pouch, a double mouthpiece pouch and ID tag.

The case weighs 7.0 lbs and the dimensions are 23x14x8.5".

Two small interior spaces will hold your small accessories.  The lid includes storage room for two mutes.  The exterior has a small accessory pocket at the top of the lid and a sheet music pocket on the back near the strap mounting rings.

This case protects your horn with a plush interior and a snug fit for the horn body.  The body straps down to the floor of the case to prevent movement.  The bell flare slides into a padded sleeve that rests on top of the body and is pinched slightly when the case is closed.  Truly, we have feared damage from having the bell flare located there, but it never happens.  Never have we heard of such a bell injury to a horn traveling in an MB5 or similar case.  The caveat is that these cases are designed for use as hand luggage, and are not to be trusted to checked baggage or airport baggage handlers.

This case actually comes in 3 sizes:

  • Standard:  fits nearly all double horns of normal size, Conn, Yamaha, Hoyer, Holton.  Now fits the Alexander 103, though the case is larger than it needs to be
  • Compact: This case is about 2" shorter and has a bit less storage inside.  Fits many Kruspe and Alexander style horns, maybe others.  For Alexander, see the MB5 Baby model.
  • XL: The shell is the same as the standard model, but the interior accessory compartment is smaller and the brace near the bottom to support the horn body is moved outward for larger horns.  Note:  New models a movable interior brace so you should be able to fit a variety of horns into the standard case.  Large wrap Geyer style horns like a Hoyer G10, Duerke LDx5, and Atkinson may be better in the XL

Instruments shown in the photos are a Paxman Series 4 and an Alexander 103.

As with all Bonna cases, many colors are available.  Given a bit of waiting, we're glad to offer this case in any single or two-tone color scheme that you'd like.  We receive shipments four times a year, so 30-90 days is a common wait time.

We try to stock several color combinations:

  • black nylon
  • black & blue nylon
  • black & green nylon
  • black & burgundy nylon
  • black & turquoise nylon

Other colors available include red, yellow, orange, light blue, light green, dark green, purple, grey and pink.

A leather outer cover is also available by special order.  See the drop down menu for pricing.  The leather adds less than a pound of weight.  The leather is stylish and may wear a bit longer than nylon, but you will get many years of use out of either.  The full spectrum of colors is available for leather cases.  Carbon shell is available, which saves less than a pound, but significant weight.

Compared to the MB7 case, this MB5 may be slightly more comfortable to carry as a back for some players, especially those of the petite size, due to its symmetry.  The MB7 may be more comfortable carried as a single shoulder strap case.

Weight: 7 lbs, 12 oz

Dimensions: 8x15x24"

So good!
Format: Kindle
Wings of Stars was a fantastic first book to a new series. It grabbed me in its clutches within the first chapter and kept ahold of me. This new world of M Sinclair and RL Caulder’s is all about angels and mythical creatures. It’s full of drama from all points. From Kieran’s awful home life to keeping the stars alive and everything in between. Kieran is our FMC and despite everything she keeps her spirit and defiance. Keeping to their norm, there is a group of guys for our FMC but they definitely aren’t established yet, and not fully cemented yet into being a group rather than her choosing between them. Ronan is so sweet and gives off Daddy vibes Gabe is also sweet and wants the best of everything for Kieran and will defend her against anyone Bastian is slightly unhinged but I loved him immediately Steele is a jerk… just as you find redeeming qualities, he screws up again… but yet I still want him to redeem himself. There’s another one… but if I gave his name I would be spoiling a plot twist so you will just have to find out yourself… but you’ll love him as much as I do. This is a slow burn but the little bit of spice we do get is hot, especially with the dirty talk.

Angels and the Fallen — Breathtaking Start
Format: Kindle
This book was EVERYTHING I expected it to be and more. Leave to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair to give us yet another amazing book! Kieran and her guys hooked me from the very beginning and did not let go. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and it was done so well in this book. Couple that along with an FMC trying to find her place in the world and I was practically drooling over this book. The world building, the conflict, the wyverin sidekick — it all was done so well that it felt fresh and real. Each love interest felt real and unique in their own ways. I felt connected to each one and like they were truly different people. I love that so much in a book and these two authors never miss with their love interests. Multi POV, Reverse harem, who did this to you, and a magical world highlighting the angels and the fallen. This book has everything and it does it so well. Big thank you to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair for the arc copy! I cannot wait for book 2!

A new take 🤔
Format: Kindle
I’m not going to go into what this book is about — by now you e already read the synopsis and have an idea — but I will give a couple of insights. Definitely a different take on angels and their fall; I like it. This is an interesting start to a new series - YES, this does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I’m eager for the next book (and hopefully the last in this series — sometimes the author(s) will switch it up depending on how the story flows for them) in this series. I’m hoping that a certain male character redeems himself because he’s a dick that will make the meaning of mixed signals jealous lol. You ever watch that old movie — I think it’s call Mommy Dearest? — yea, let’s switch that up to daddy. That man would make a perfect husband to mommy dearest. I recommend this book because while these authors are well known for their cliffhangers, they are also well known for putting out good stories.

Liked it
Format: Kindle
I liked the worlds and the characters. The prophesy is confusing in that I would think, since all worlds ore on a path to destruction, the angels would want their world to be saved. I am sure there is more evil that will be revealed as the series proceeds. I dislike a prolonged “poor little me” trope and the main character has moved past that, thankfully, and began to show a fierce attitude as the novel progressed. The last portion of the novel had some great action. It’s worth reading, just be patient with a slow start.

Unexpectedly emotional and packed with action!
Format: Kindle
Why do I suddenly want nothing more than a tiny wyvern to snuggle with?! It’s adorable and I absolutely love all of those moments! Wings of Stars was everything I’ve come expect from this powerful author duo. The fact that it’s written by two different people is completely transparent to the reader and they’ve brought us another world and characters that we’re all emotionally connected to and fully invested in! The injustice that we see from Alfemir in the many forms in which it comes is infuriating and makes me desperate for the conclusion of the story so they can all get what’s coming to them! I love all the guys right now, with one exception, and if you’re read it, you know exactly who I’m talking about. Bastian is hilarious - he was the comedic relief through an otherwise quite serious story. My heart bleeds for him and I can’t wait to see how he progresses through the series. Parts of Wings of Stars were unexpectedly emotional and of course I was left with my jaw on the floor at that cliffhanger! Next, please!
