The Ich parasite undergoes a complex life cycle, and during its initial phases, it is not visible as it embeds itself in the gill and skin tissues, leading to significant electrolyte depletion and gill injury, which can also trigger secondary bacterial and/or fungal infections.
Initial signs of this infection may include your fish swimming erratically in the tank, rubbing against gravel or decorations, struggling to breathe, and staying close to the water's surface, around filters, or near aeration devices. It's important to note that white spots may not always be apparent on your fish.
SUPER ICK CURE typically eradicates the Ich parasite within 24 hours and is safe for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. This product is available in both liquid and powder formats, and it’s crucial to follow the dosing instructions provided on the packaging.
- For every 10 gallons of water, pour one packet directly into the aquarium.
- Administer a repeat dose after 48 hours.
- After another 48 hours, perform a 25% water change in the aquarium and introduce fresh activated carbon or replace the filter cartridge.
Instructions for liquid use:
- Remove the activated carbon from the filter and maintain aeration.
- Administer 5 ml. for every 5 gallons of aquarium water.
- Repeat the dose after 48 hours.
- Wait an additional 48 hours, then change 25% of the aquarium water and add fresh activated carbon.
