With a heavy sigh, the Chancellor sets down his quill. Stacks of parchment fill the desk, hardly fewer now than when the day began. Rising, he picks up the candle and a handful of materials from the desk. He mutters to himself as he descends the long, stone spiral staircase.

As the footsteps and soft glow fade, a hand appears at the window’s edge. Clad in dark colors, the Spy pulls herself into the room and hurries to the desk. Quietly, she sifts through missives and documents, and lifts one, smiling…

THE COMPETITION INCREASES

Love Letter is a classic that is already a great game. You don't need to fix what isn't broken! We put our heads together to brainstorm and took note of requested features fans wanted. In addition to refreshing the art, we made a few gameplay improvements. Opening the game up for more players will accommodate a full game night. A group of four is great, but a group of six is even more fun! To ensure a well-paced and balanced game experience, our development team tested increasing the number of cards and adding new characters. The final product has five new cards added to the original sixteen card deck: one additional guard and two new characters with two copies of each.

THE CHANCELLOR

The Chancellor is the advisor and administrator of the royal family. This new addition to the game is a deceptively powerful card. Playing the Chancellor will not only allow you to find a high-value card, but it gives you the advantage of knowing what lies on the bottom of the deck. With a value of 6, the Chancellor could win you the round; but choose your move carefully—playing the Chancellor for his ability could be the wiser play.

THE SPY

The Spy, master of secrets, finds a wealth of new opportunity in the recent events surrounding the royal family. However, the secret missives and communications of the royals are most valuable when possessed by a select few. To benefit from the Spy, you must be the only person still in the round with the Spy in your play area. If the Spy is played at the right moment, you'll be one step closer to winning the whole game. Playing the Spy too early could pin a target on your back but wait too long and the low numerical value won't be enough to carry your letter of intent to the Princess.

WHO'S IN OR WHO'S OUT?

Did you find yourself constantly asking who was still in the round? Now you won't have to worry about that! Once a player is knocked out of the round, they'll flip over the character reference card to reveal a broken wax seal. A quick glance around the table will tell you who is still in the round and whose letter didn't quite make it.

Who will you use to carry your missive to the Princess? Can you earn her trust and become her confidant?

Great plot, steamy goodness, and absolute heartbreak, what more could you want?
Format: Paperback
“I’d already concluded a long time ago that I would never love someone the way I’d loved Wren—the way I still loved her. Because it didn’t matter if it had been ten days or ten years. A love like that ruined you for all others.” Suspenseful, Heartbreaking and Surprising! I have only read one other Catherine Cowles book; Tattered Stars and I loved it just as much as I love Whispers of You. The thing I love about this book (and the other) is also my one complaint. She has found the magic potion for a perfect romantic suspense. And maybe I wouldn't be saying this, if I had finished the other series, before starting this. I also know my opinion is so limited having only read two out of her incredibly extensive backlist. BUT the two I have read, feel very similar to each other, So much so that I look back now, a week after reading Whispers of You and I am getting them confused in my head. Thats not to say I didn't LOVE both books, because I absolutely did. This just felt like a plug and play equation to perfection with changing the details around. That being said this book grabs you from the prologue and doesn't give your heart a break until the very end. Holt and Wrens story is heartbreaking, I do wish we would have gotten a glimpse of the good before the bad, more often through the book to further the draw between them. But that's not because I feel like its lacking, its more that I loved the love these two had for each other and I would have enjoyed seeing it before either of them suffered through the tainted lenses of loss and fear. I loved the side characters and as the story progressed, I began to wonder who the culprit was, I did have one right but was dead nuts wrong on the other so both my mind was blown, and my heart was broken at the same time when I found out. Catherine Cowles keeps your heart in a vice the entire story and I love her for that. I am new to romantic suspense but am prone to panic attacks (HA) so, I find that her writing is just enough and not too much for me to read without sending me in to a tizzy. Overall though I do love this book, and I look forward to Echos of you and the second one in Tattered and Torn series, I just think I might finish that series before I keep going so, I can keep them straight.

Stunning Second Chance Romance
Format: Paperback
Well, I truly began my February reading in the best way with this book. I was so excited to read it after absolutely loving the Tattered and Torn series and it DELIVERED my friends. It has all of the emotions, all of the beauty, all of the suspense I’ve come to adore in Catherine’s books turned up even just a little more. Dare I say she even turned up the spice a bit?? Phew with the heat between these two! Along with the suspense element we get served small town, an over protective hero, and the most heart melting of second chance romances. Right from the prologue this book is off and running, I was not prepared for it. You meet Wren and hear about her gorgeous love for Holt. An absolutely horrific event occurs though that we learn sends him running for 10 years, and makes her a ghost of her former self after losing him. Neither of them, especially Holt, handled the aftermath well. It made me love them more though to see the growth they go through when he comes back and they reforge their intense, soul deep connection. Both of them face a whole lot of demons. I also love that even though it was completely awful for them both to be apart, Holt leaving forces Wren to become independent and stand on her own. So their second time around, it’s an even stronger, more equal relationship. If you follow my feed closely, you also know that I am always gone for a found family dynamic, and we have that here in spades with the way the Hartleys watch out for Wren. Her relationship with Holt’s parents and siblings is just gorgeous. The way Holt heals his relationship with them all is wonderful too. I’m already deeply in love with Nash and cannot WAIT for his book next. Yes to a new family saga series, please and thank you!!! I can’t recommend this one enough.

Definitely reading more by this author!!!
Format: Paperback
I really enjoyed this book! I absolutely love Holt and Wren. I loved watching them come back together and admit their feelings for each other. What I loved most was the mystery and suspension all throughout this book! It had me hooked from the very beginning, and just when I thought I knew who the culprit was, it was twisted to someone I never expected! I’ll definitely be reading more by this author 🫶🏻
