Built in the UK at the Vintage ProShop in Leeds, this V52PU0016 sits within their Unique line — guitars created as individual pieces rather than part of a production run. Only one of these exists.

With the ProShop now closing, these instruments represent the last of their kind. There is no ongoing production and no further examples will be made, which places this in a very different position to a standard model.

The finish is what draws you in first. It’s distinctive, but it’s been handled with restraint, giving it character without feeling overworked. In hand, it has a depth to it that doesn’t quite come across in photos. Underneath that, the construction is deliberately simple — an alder body paired with a maple neck and 10” radius maple fingerboard, 22 medium frets, and a 43mm graphite nut. It’s a familiar platform, but one that allows the guitar to feel immediate and responsive.

The wraparound bridge keeps things direct, and the pair of Wilkinson WMC301 pickups give a wide usable range — from warmer, rounded tones at the neck through to more defined bite at the bridge. Controls are kept straightforward with a single volume, single tone and a three-way selector, so everything stays intuitive.

Before leaving the workshop, it went through a full Vintage ProShop set-up. The frets have been levelled, crowned and polished, the fingerboard dressed, the truss rod set, and the action, radius and intonation all adjusted carefully. Pickup height has been set correctly and the nut slots regulated, so it feels settled and consistent across the neck.

What separates this from anything else with a similar spec isn’t the parts list — it’s the fact it exists on its own. Designed and built by the ProShop team as a single instrument, and now sitting as part of a closed chapter with the workshop no longer producing.

It comes with its original Vintage ProShop certificate and gig bag, and stands as a one-off UK-built piece from a workshop that has now finished.
