Its harmony is in its changeability, with a range of sensations on the palate that is constantly being redefined and reconstituted. It has a moment of grace and lightness that catches by surprise and fascinates each time.
The year was characterised by challenging contrasts between cold and rainy periods, and warm and stormy weather. Summer was uncertain and often gloomy. The weather brightened up miraculously during the last few days of August. And the fine days continued right up until the end of the harvest - which made the vintage what it is. Picking began with Pinot Noir on 11 September.
