Catalina kits have always been great sellers because of the amount of attention to detail in the design leads to a sound that most performing drummers would be more than happy to gig with. Details like the 30 degree bearing edges and GTS Tom mount system ensure you get every last bit of tone out of the mahogany shells.
One other cool feature on the Catalina Jazz kits is pre-muffled kick drum heads so you don't need to resort to the usual "pillow" tricks to get a tight sounding kick.
