Deze pergola is vervaardigd uit hoogwaardig cortenstaal, ook wel weervast staal genoemd. Onder invloed van weer en wind ontwikkelt het materiaal een warme, oranjebruine roestlaag. Het roestproces duurt gemiddeld enkele maanden en geeft de pergola zijn karakteristieke uitstraling.
